The April 2025 tele-town hall was announced only hours in advance and took just 11 pre-screened questions while leaving 'the elephant in the room' of his alleged violent assault unanswered. Oviedo Mayor Megan Sladek said it 'sounded very scripted' and 'didn't scratch that itch for most people.' When Mills finally held in-person town halls on January 28-29, 2026, they were met with boos, protesters, and fiery confrontations.
