Harris County voting records show Hunt did not vote in the 2016 general election, though he later stated he 'proudly cast my vote for Donald J. Trump in 2016.' He voted in the 2008 Democratic primary for Hillary Clinton, which he described as 'Operation Chaos.' From January 2023 to September 2025, Hunt missed 281 of 1,523 roll call votes (18.5%), the worst attendance among House Republicans, and has cited his son's NICU stay as a reason for absences.
