  • Mr. Chair, I rise today in strong support of the House budget resolution. This resolution in this reconciliation package builds on the working families tax cuts that were passed into law last year that have lowered taxes for more Americans than probably any tax bill in decades. I will talk about one thing, though…
  • 2026-07-21 HONORING STEVE STROUD ↗ Real estate & construction
Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor the life and legacy of Steve Stroud, a friend and a true leader who transformed North Carolina. After attending North Carolina State University, he built one of North Carolina's most respected commercial real estate firms, shaping the growth of the Triangle region. His impact ext…
  • 2026-07-15 HONORING MAXINE PEACOCK HOLLEY ↗ Real estate & construction
Mr. Speaker, today I rise to honor the life and memory of Maxine Peacock Holley, a devoted public servant of Benson, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 82. Maxine dedicated her life to serving others as a teacher's aide, a magistrate judge, and a Benson town commissioner. She was a trailblazer. She was …
  • Mr. Speaker, today I rise on a sad occasion but to honor the life and the service of Ashley Moore of my home county, Cleveland County, North Carolina, who tragically passed away just one day after celebrating her 37th birthday. On July 6 of this year while Ashley was a paramedic with the Cleveland County EMS, whil…
  • 2026-06-23 HOUSING FOR THE 21ST CENTURY ACT ↗ Finance & bankingReal estate & construction
Mr. Speaker, many parts of this country are facing a major housing affordability issue. In my home State of North Carolina, there is an estimated housing shortage of 750,000 units. With over 100,000 more people moving into North Carolina every year, that gap is only going to grow. One way--in fact, the way to solv…
  • Mr. Speaker, I will first start off with thanking my colleague on the other side of the aisle for his support on this. It is great when we can do bipartisan things, particularly on such subject matter. I rise today in support of my bill, the Disaster Loan Accountability and Reform Act. When Hurricane Helene struck…
  • Mr. Speaker, this week is Police Week, and I think our law enforcement officers would agree that public safety should not be a partisan issue. What we have seen around the country are leftist judges and DAs who are pushing policies that put criminals back on the streets and take tools away from law enforcement. On…

Latest 60 flagged trades shown.

A listed trade is an overlap in the record, not a finding. The full filing index is on the STOCK Act desk.

How this is assembled

  • Roll calls come from the Senate's LIS XML (senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_votes) and the House Clerk's EVS XML (clerk.house.gov/evs), fetched nightly and never edited.
  • The party line on a roll call is the majority among that party's yea and nay votes. Party unity is the share of this member's yea/nay votes that matched it; a break is a vote that did not. Votes of “present” and absences count toward attendance only.
  • Members are identified by Biographical Directory (bioguide) id; senators' LIS ids are mapped through the unitedstates/congress-legislators roster.
  • Floor speeches come from the Congressional Record (govinfo), split at the speaker lines the Record prints and matched to the member by surname, chamber and state; a passage that names a measure the member later voted on is paired with that vote. Trades are the member's own STOCK Act periodic transaction reports — House filings parsed from the Clerk's PDFs, Senate filings from the Senate's electronic disclosure system. A trade is flagged when its company's sector is one a committee the member sits on oversees, when the member cast a yea or nay on a measure in that sector within thirty days of the trade, or when PACs in that sector gave the member $10,000 or more in a cycle. Sectors for companies come from the SEC's company list and SIC codes; measures' policy areas from the Library of Congress via govinfo.
  • Funding is the member's principal campaign committee as filed with the FEC: receipt totals from the committee's summary, every contribution from another political committee (Form 3, line 11C), and the FEC's own roll-up of individual money by employer. Sectors are assigned by a fixed, published list of name patterns, and the rule that fired is stored with each row.

A break with the party is a fact of the record, not a verdict. Procedural votes, amendments and motions to recommit are all in here; what a given break means is a question for the measure it was on, which is one click away.
