Palantir Technologies was co-founded by Peter Thiel in 2003. SEC filings list Thiel as Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board, and historical Form 4 filings document his sales of Palantir stock following the expiration of post-IPO lockup periods.

Palantir's largest federal contract relationships include the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense, and federal intelligence agencies. USASpending.gov records list contracts under 'Palantir Technologies Inc.' rather than under any individual founder's name, and the cumulative federal contract base runs into the billions of dollars.

Among the load-bearing contracts: Palantir won a major U.S. Army contract — Army Vantage — initially valued at approximately $800 million, later expanded. Palantir also received contracts from HHS and the CDC related to COVID-19 data tracking and response efforts.

AnalyticalANALYTICAL: The pattern is not that Palantir sells generic enterprise software to government; it is that Palantir has been built into the federal data-fusion stack at the agency-platform layer, while remaining a privately-controlled company chaired by Peter Thiel — who is simultaneously one of the largest political donors in the country.
