2026-02-02 VETERANS READINESS AND EMPLOYMENT IMPROVEMENT ACT OF 2025 ↗
Mr. Speaker, as chairman of the Economic Opportunity Subcommittee, it has been a great privilege to get important bills like H.R. 913, the SAFE Veterans Act of 2025, and H.R. 1793, the Veterans Readiness and Employment Transparency Act of…

  • Mr. Speaker, I am currently working with the appropriators to try to allocate some money for acting lessons for my colleagues so that some of their arguments could be more believable because they simply are not. Let me explain what the VASP program did. There were unelected bureaucrats under the Biden administrat…
  • Mr. Speaker, I rise in strong support of this bill. ``A well regulated militia, being necessary for the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.'' That is the entire text of the Second Amendment. I would argue that this should apply to those of us who literall…
  • Mr. Speaker, the only committee I asked to be on when I got elected to Congress was the Agriculture Committee. I came here to fight for my farmers, and that is exactly what we are doing here today. For the last 5 years in a row, the EPA issued an emergency waiver for E15 year-round. I would argue that if you do the…
  • Madam Speaker, I will take a second to thank my Democratic colleagues for acknowledging my amendments. I will be sending them my entire list of legislative priorities for their cosponsorship. I stand here today to strongly support the E15 year-round codification. For the past 5 years, the EPA has been using data t…
  • Mr. Chair, I remind my Democrat colleagues that I was raised in abject, rural poverty by a single mother on food stamps when you had a stamp that you stuck on a card. I had subsidized government lunches and government cheese. We do have to know that there is a tremendous amount of fraud that takes place in SNAP, a…
  • Mr. Speaker, as chairman of the Economic Opportunity Subcommittee, it has been a great privilege to get important bills like H.R. 913, the SAFE Veterans Act of 2025, and H.R. 1793, the Veterans Readiness and Employment Transparency Act of 2025, over the finish line. I thank my friends, the gentleman from Californi…
  • Mr. Speaker, I rise today to unfortunately, once again, highlight the scourge of veteran suicide. Matthew Burns was in my platoon when I was his Navy SEAL chief. Unfortunately and for a reason only known between him and God, he decided to end his life a few months ago. With Matthew's passing, that makes 22 of my …
  • Mr. Speaker, I would like to take a moment to ground this House in reality and make sure that everyone understands that words have consequences and that the violent political rhetoric that has been delivered over the last 48 to 72 hours by my Democratic colleagues has affected Americans across this country and the g…

What Orden trades

No STOCK Act transaction reports on file for this member (House filings only so far).

How this is assembled

  • Roll calls come from the Senate's LIS XML (senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_votes) and the House Clerk's EVS XML (clerk.house.gov/evs), fetched nightly and never edited.
  • The party line on a roll call is the majority among that party's yea and nay votes. Party unity is the share of this member's yea/nay votes that matched it; a break is a vote that did not. Votes of “present” and absences count toward attendance only.
  • Members are identified by Biographical Directory (bioguide) id; senators' LIS ids are mapped through the unitedstates/congress-legislators roster.
  • Floor speeches come from the Congressional Record (govinfo), split at the speaker lines the Record prints and matched to the member by surname, chamber and state; a passage that names a measure the member later voted on is paired with that vote. Trades are the member's own STOCK Act periodic transaction reports — House filings parsed from the Clerk's PDFs, Senate filings from the Senate's electronic disclosure system. A trade is flagged when its company's sector is one a committee the member sits on oversees, when the member cast a yea or nay on a measure in that sector within thirty days of the trade, or when PACs in that sector gave the member $10,000 or more in a cycle. Sectors for companies come from the SEC's company list and SIC codes; measures' policy areas from the Library of Congress via govinfo.
  • Funding is the member's principal campaign committee as filed with the FEC: receipt totals from the committee's summary, every contribution from another political committee (Form 3, line 11C), and the FEC's own roll-up of individual money by employer. Sectors are assigned by a fixed, published list of name patterns, and the rule that fired is stored with each row.

A break with the party is a fact of the record, not a verdict. Procedural votes, amendments and motions to recommit are all in here; what a given break means is a question for the measure it was on, which is one click away.
