What III put their name to

Measures sponsored and cosponsored in the 119th Congress, from govinfo's bill status files. Most bills never reach a vote, so this is where a member's priorities show before the roll-call record can. 12.5% of III's cosponsorships are on measures introduced by the other party.

2025-03-11 PANDEMIC UNEMPLOYMENT FRAUD ENFORCEMENT ACT ↗
Mr. Speaker, I rise in strong support of H.R. 1156, the Pandemic Unemployment Fraud Enforcement Act. Unemployment insurance, or UI, fraud ran rampant during the pandemic. The Government Accountability Office estimates that pandemic-era …

  • Mr. Speaker, in the last 2 months northwest Indiana has sadly seen a rash of violence against law enforcement. Three officers in and around [[Page H5021]] my district have been shot in the line of duty. Trooper Benjamin Beers was shot during a traffic stop. Deputy Jon Samuelson was shot three times while helping …
  • 2026-06-24 RECOGNIZING NATIONAL BOYS & GIRLS CLUB WEEK ↗ Health care & pharma
Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor a hero from Indiana's Second Congressional District, Deputy Jon Samuelson of the LaPorte County Sheriff's Office. On May 22, Deputy Samuelson did what good people do: He stopped to help a stranger stranded on the side of the road and drove him to the hospital. That act of decency…
  • Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize National Boys & Girls Club Week and celebrate the incredible impact the Boys & Girls Clubs have on young people across our country. Before coming to Congress, I had the privilege of serving as board chair of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Indiana. Through that experience,…
  • Mr. Speaker, I thank the gentleman from Missouri for yielding me the time. Mr. Speaker, I am proud to support the Fostering the Future Act, which will make meaningful changes to the Chafee program to better support foster youth and alleviate unnecessary challenges. This bill includes the Support for Expectant and…
  • Mr. Speaker, I rise in strong support of H.R. 6956, the BARCODE Efficiency Act. I am proud to co-lead this act with my friend from Illinois (Mr. Schneider). This is a simple but powerful bill that will make tax return processing faster, more accurate, and more efficient. E-filing taxes is becoming even more common…
  • Mr. Speaker, yesterday we lost a giant. Growing up in South Bend, Coach Holtz was more than a football coach. He was a living legend. When I was young, my family took me to a Notre Dame hockey game. We were walking up late, so there was nobody else around. Appearing out from the shadows, you could see the silhouet…
  • Mr. Speaker, from hearing my Democratic colleagues talk today, it is clear that none of them has ever been to a pregnancy resource center, and they certainly have never used their services. Mr. Speaker, 17 years ago, my wife, Sallyann, and I found out we were expecting our first child. Sallyann thought she was havi…
  • Mr. Speaker, I thank the chairman for the time this morning. Mr. Speaker, Indiana is proud to have manufactured housing facilities across the State that build hundreds of thousands of homes for Americans. Manufactured housing is critical to giving Hoosier families affordable housing. It gives options and support…

What III trades

No STOCK Act transaction reports on file for this member (House filings only so far).

How this is assembled

  • Roll calls come from the Senate's LIS XML (senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_votes) and the House Clerk's EVS XML (clerk.house.gov/evs), fetched nightly and never edited.
  • The party line on a roll call is the majority among that party's yea and nay votes. Party unity is the share of this member's yea/nay votes that matched it; a break is a vote that did not. Votes of “present” and absences count toward attendance only.
  • Members are identified by Biographical Directory (bioguide) id; senators' LIS ids are mapped through the unitedstates/congress-legislators roster.
  • Floor speeches come from the Congressional Record (govinfo), split at the speaker lines the Record prints and matched to the member by surname, chamber and state; a passage that names a measure the member later voted on is paired with that vote. Trades are the member's own STOCK Act periodic transaction reports — House filings parsed from the Clerk's PDFs, Senate filings from the Senate's electronic disclosure system. A trade is flagged when its company's sector is one a committee the member sits on oversees, when the member cast a yea or nay on a measure in that sector within thirty days of the trade, or when PACs in that sector gave the member $10,000 or more in a cycle. Sectors for companies come from the SEC's company list and SIC codes; measures' policy areas from the Library of Congress via govinfo.
  • Funding is the member's principal campaign committee as filed with the FEC: receipt totals from the committee's summary, every contribution from another political committee (Form 3, line 11C), and the FEC's own roll-up of individual money by employer. Sectors are assigned by a fixed, published list of name patterns, and the rule that fired is stored with each row.

A break with the party is a fact of the record, not a verdict. Procedural votes, amendments and motions to recommit are all in here; what a given break means is a question for the measure it was on, which is one click away.
